Granby Nursery, The Howard Building, College Lane, Rotherham, S65 1AX

Granby Howard Childrens Nursery is located in Rotherham Town Centre, on the ground floor of the Howard Building, which belongs to Rotherham College. The nursery can provide childcare for up to 82 children per day. The rooms are large and spacious and have lots of windows, children are cared for in small, individual groups dependant on their age.

The nursery is managed by Louise Wilson, a graduate with Early Years Professional Status. Louise has over 15 years of childcare experience and has worked for Granby for 13 years.

The nursery offers childcare for all and also provides childcare places for students studying at Rotherham College. Many parents work in offices in the town centre and walk to the nursery from their car park or the bus/train stations, which are all nearby. There is also a drop-off point for parents who travel to work elsewhere.

The nursery has a small outside area, which is used very well and offers lots of learning opportunities, including growing vegetables and plants. The practitioners also make great use of all the town centre has to offer, with frequent walks to Clifton Park and other local attractions.

“Children’s welfare needs are rigorously safeguarded because staff are extremely professional and endeavour to maintain the highest possible standards of care and education.

Children make outstanding progress and, overall, enjoy an extensive range of highly enjoyable activities. They are valued as unique individuals and inclusive practice is a key strength within the nursery. Staff demonstrate an exceptionally high level of professionalism and their commitment to continuous professional development is exceedingly good. Children’s progress is imaginatively shared through excellent partnerships.
