Nursery Curriculum / further information and Nursery Learning
Granby Childrens Nurseries in Rotherham and Worksop follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and firmly believe that children are competent learners from birth. At our Childrens Nurseries, children learn through play and first hand experiences, supported by enthusiastic, knowledgeable practitioners.
Recent research has shown that childrens nurseries are of higher quality and their children make more progress if practitioners have higher qualifications. All practitioners in our nurseries are qualified to Level 3 or above and they are managed by a Graduate with Early Years Professional Status.

Play & Learn
Children learn and develop through play and first hand experiences, supported by our enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. Research shows that children progress more where staff have higher qualifications.
We are constantly reflecting on our childcare facilities and improving on our already high standards. Our childrens nurseries are accredited to a quality assurance accreditation scheme which is recognised by Ofsted.
Embracing our outdoor areas to maximise learning experiences. Whatever the weather, we take advantage of our fantastic, richly resourced outdoor areas to stimulate and challenge children further.
Every child deserves the best…
Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential.
Children develop quickly in the early years and a child’s experiences between birth and five have a major impact on their future life chances…

Working with parents and carers
We appreciate that leaving your child at nursery for the first time can be difficult and we do all we can to make it a little easier by offering…
- As many settling-in nursery sessions as you feel necessary.
- Lots of opportunity to talk to staff and daily feedback about your child in individual communication diaries.
- Parents’ / carers’ evenings & monthly newsletters, keeping you informed about all that is happening at the nurseries.
We operate an open door policy, parents / carers are always welcome in our nurseries
Babies and children have their own room base with a small group of others their own age. Each child has a “key person” who is responsible for keeping their development files and liaising with parents / carers.
