Staff, parents and children are celebrating again at Granby Nursery in Carlton in Lindrick. They have gained their third consecutive outstanding judgement from Ofsted. This ‘hat trick’ is a fantastic achievement and shows that the children they care for are continuing to make ‘exceptional progress in readiness for school.’.

Jacqui Hannaby, the Nursery Manager says the success of the nursery is down to her highly qualified and dedicated team of staff “the nursery ethos is to put children at the centre of everything we do. This means they are happy and settled and inspired to learn.”

Ofsted Inspector Amanda Forrest agrees and puts in her report that staff ‘set extremely high standards and children receive exemplary care and outstanding learning opportunities.’ She writes ‘They regularly visit the nearby woods to teach children about the world around them and to provide them with opportunities to manage risks and challenges. Children excitedly paddle in streams, jump in puddles, climb mountains and share their findings.’

Jacqui adds “it is very important that children have an excellent start in their learning journey, we seek to provide the best environment for children. If you want your little ones to be inspired and be part of this environment we have some availability.” Ofsted – 30th March 2016

November 2017 Granby Nursery Carlton are celebrating, they have been recognised as providing outstanding care and education for local children for 10 consecutive years (2007 -2017)!! Granby have received the outstanding grade 3 times in a row, this is fantastic achievement only 1% of settings have achieved this. The last Ofsted inspector noted ‘Teaching is exceptional’ and ‘Children are inspired to learn in this vibrant and busy environment.’

At Granby we believe that children learn best through play and first-hand experiences, particularly outdoors. We know that it is important to get to know children and their families and we pride ourselves on our excellent relationships with them.

Granby had cared for over 700 children in the 15 years it has been open and has excellent links with the local community. We’ve asked parents what they like about Granby, this is what some of them said… “The personal care, the friendliness of everyone, the community you have created and the smile on my child’s face every time I pick him up.” “The staff are amazing and always go above and beyond. The setting is welcoming and accessible for all.” “The homely and friendly atmosphere helps the children feel safe and the parents feel confident.” “Fantastic and engaging experiences every day.”
